WYBT

Workouts YOU missed...
Friday: 3 mi, don't remember time, but I'm confident it was awesome!
Saturday:  Rest at the pool with Granger and the Duggars.. seriously.
Sunday:  5K Race, finished 5th in my age group! WOO! 29:41
Monday: 3.5 mi, 34 ish mins, my treadmill quit (I accidentally hit the button at 1.88 mi) on me mid run.
Tuesday:  Rest!

How about these Olympics!!!!  USA!  USA!  SPOILER ALERT. Women's USA Gym wins team GOLD!  Hello!!  Those little muscle-y cuties!

How perfect is this picture? GABBY GET OVER HERE!
But here's my beef.  Freaking HOPE SOLO.  WTF is her problem! I'm referring to this article...

http://espn.go.com/olympics/summer/2012/soccer/story/_/id/8214811/2012-london-olympics-us-women-soccer-goalie-hope-solo-back-critical-tweets-brandi-chastain

For reals though, Hope Solo will never be a Brandi Chastain... and I'm not talking about soccer... I'm talking leadership, class, and character.  Unfortunately, I think this is Hope's personality.  This is what she does, she just verbally craps on whoever she wants because it's all about her.  I mean, look at the drama from 2007, she obvi didn't learn from THAT nor did she learn anything from DWTS!  STOP TALKING!

AND, super adorable Chinese swimmer accused of doping... just because she beat the boys!  Here's the article...

http://news.yahoo.com/unease-anger-chinese-swimmer-fights-doping-doubts-161507701--spt.html?_esi=1

Moving on...

The Duggars were at the pool on Saturday.

See them in their little train. Jim Bob, Jedidiah, Jude, Jerry, JoJo (No signs of K-Ci), Jeffrey, Jamie, Jill, Julie, Jlizabeth

What else? What's your beef?

Happy Tuesday.

HAPPY OPENING CEREMONIES!

Yesterday's workout: Soccer game. Ask me about my fancy pants goal. 3 mi tonight.

It's the official start of the 2012 Summer Games! YAHOOOOOO(ters!) MEGAPOSTTTTTTT! GO!

We're talking Olympics here.. Lou, Busta and I are obsessed.. and you can count on us for Olympic live tweeting (pun intended).  And Tim (I re read this weekly, makes me laugh a lot) is my little monkey that does whatever I say. Dance monkey Timmy dance. Your wife is a saint.

I got the scoop, you've heard it first HERE:

First up: Captain Timothy C Konze of the United States Army

1.  What is your favorite sport to watch?  Why?
Tim:  Too easy. Women's soccer.
Me:  WHY!
Tim:  Alex Morgan-Konze. Heather Mitts, etc. And because they are phenomenal athletes. I love watching soccer and I love the USA.  Too bad the men suck.  They didn't even make the Olympics right?
Me:  Right. They stink.  But in their/our defense.. the Olympic men's team isn't the World Cup team (which is most people's association).  It's our U-23 national team.. ANYWAY..

2.  What sport has/who wears the best uniform?  Never mind, how would we know... stupid question.  I'm embarrassed.

3.  Which event/sport/competition would you have no business competing in?
Tim:  Shit hold on. Let me google all the events.
Me:  Ugh
Tim:  Gymnastics. I had to take "military movement" at school as a plebe.  It's similar to gymnastics and I think I got a D. We even had a floor routine.  On a scale of 0-5, I got a zero and refused to retest because it was humiliating.  And homosexual.
Me:  You had to google the events to pick gymnastics?
Tim:  And I'm glad I did! There is a lot of shit in the summer! Assface

4.  If selected, how far do you have to carry that torch?
Tim:  As far as they tell me.
Me:  Amen brethren

5.  Your favorite Brit athlete?
Tim:  Andy Murray
Me:  Who?
Tim:  Tennis
Me:  Andy Roddick?
(Joke)

6.  Your favorite 'Merican athlete?
Tim:  Are you even asking?
Me:  Baby horse?
Tim:  My boo, Alex

7.  What song, other than the National Anthem, would you have playing when you receive your Gold medal?
Tim:  Party in the USA
Me:  Hell yeah!
(Smiley is my girl!)

Demand:  Send me a picture of your game face and/or send me a video of your victory dance.
Tim:  Ok hold on, I'm in a meeting.
Me:  Not paying attention, are you?
Tim:  Not at all.
Me:  Props

He sent this because, "I think I only bite my lip for my game face."
Back to gymnastics class Military Movement dance class...

So, can you do the splits?
Tim:  If I tore my groin.

Ribbon dancing?
Tim:  I would dominate.

What song?
Tim:  The new JLO jam, or anything by Enrique.

And.. SCENE!  Thanks for enduring the wrath of Jdub (Olympic style).. you have more gold medals than Michael Phelps is about to have in my book.

Next up:  Mary Lou Retton Rybicki of Eat, Drink and Be Mary

1.  What is your favorite sport to watch? Why?
Sand volleyball, I feel like that would be a sport I may have a shot to play given the opportunity.
You have my vote.  Mostly because, given the opportunity, I think you'd pick me as your teammate.

2.  What sport has/who wears the best uniform? Nevermind, how would we know.. stupid question.
Still embarrassed.

3.  Which event/sport/competition would you have no business competing in?
Sumo wrestling
Feather weight?

4.  If selected, how far do you have to carry that torch?
No clue..

5.  Your favorite Brit athlete?
No fav

6.  Your favorite 'Merican athlete?
Kerri Walsh

7.  What song, other than the National Anthem, would you have playing when you receive your Gold medal?
Knock out.. Lil Wayne, cause I knocked the bs out!

Thanks MLRR!!  You win.  You always do.

Bussie's turn!

1.  What is your favorite sport to watch?  Why?
Tough questions, my friend. My favorite sport to watch would have to be Soccer simply because I love the sport. I feel that may be a biased answer so I'll steer away from choosing it. Swimming has always enthralled me as well. Or, beach volleyball! The men are shirtless in both events so I'm sure to tune in.

2.  What sport has/who wears the best uniform? Nevermind, how would we know.. stupid question.
Agreed! Stupid question. I'll answer that in a few days when I have the slightest idea.
Cool, thanks.......

3.  Which event/sport/competition would you have no business competing in?
As athletic as I am, I would have to choose the hurdles. While I have the speed, I just don't have the coordination to clear that 3 ft obstacle. Or...gymnastics! Let's face it, there IS a weight limit to those uniforms.
I've seen several pairs of your tennis shoes, they look very fast.

4.  If selected, how far do you have to carry that torch?
Long enough to cook a marshmallow.
S'mores!

5.  Your favorite Brit athlete?
'Merica! F Yeah.

6.  Your favorite 'Merican athlete?
Again, I'd like to go with the predictable answer of Hope Solo, Abby Wambach or Alex Morgan, but I'll go with Missy Franklin and Ryan Lochte! Both of these American swimmers are coming off amazing years predicted to do big things!!! Nevermind! I can't choose just 1 or 2 I LOVE them ALLLLLL!! Walsh! May! Phelps!!Coughlin!! Felix!! James!!! Ahhhhhh I LOVE THE OLYMPICS!!!
You obviously didn't watch Dancing With The Stars with Hope Solo.

7.  What song, other than the National Anthem, would you have playing when you receive your Gold medal?
The Cupid Shuffle to get the crowd going. Or Jump Jump by Criss Cross.

Demand: Send me a picture of your game face and/or send me a video of your victory dance.

Bussie's Game faces.. obvi.
Thanks Bussie!  You're a peach!  A gold medal winning peach!

Now MY turn.  Because it's all about me.

1.  What is your favorite sport to watch? Why?
Women's soccer.  Hands down.  Obvi.  However, while watching men's gymnastics trials, I was like HOLY MOLY!!  These guys are crazzzyyyy!!!  So, I'm adding men's gymnastics to the list.  And, of course, I'm a huge tramp (oline) fan.

2.  What sport has/who wears the best uniform? Nevermind, how would we know.. stupid question.
Can I just say.. I DO NOT like the new USA soccer unis.. the red/white striped ones.. Found Waldo.

3.  Which event/sport/competition would you have no business competing in?
All water events.

4.  If selected, how far do you have to carry that torch?
However far I want.  I don't really know what the real answer is.

5.  Your favorite Brit athlete?
Becks, of course.. if he doesn't count because he's not actually competing, I'm gonna say Queen Elizabeth.

6.  Your favorite 'Merican athlete?
Alex Morgan, and I just became frenemies with Lauren Cheney... she loves Tim Riggins, too.

7.  What song, other than the National Anthem, would you have playing when you receive your Gold medal?
We are the Champions - Queen medley with Flo Rida's "Whistle"

Send me a picture of your game face and/or send me a video of your victory dance.
I will add it soon enough.. I gotta get back to work.

Thanks party people! Go USA!

Happy Friday! Opening Ceremonies are at 6:30 on NBC.

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Check it.

Workout: 3 mi 27:38 (I think?)

Check out my girls in London!  Obviously, I would be a HUGE asset to their (scramble) team.

Tomorrow is opening ceremonies!  So excited!  USWNT beat France 4-2 yesterday, and I'm having difficulties finding highlights, but I guess it lead me to that little beaut (above).. USWNT plays Colombia today.  It's recording at the Mother ship.  USA!  USA!  I'm inspired to watch Mighty Ducks, D2 of course.  This is my favorite part.. "HEY TEAM USA.. WHAT'RE YOU GONNA DO TODAY? A MILLION JUMPN JACKS!" Russ Tyler.. so funny.

I also found some newbies to follow during the Olympics.. @AndyThorntonNBC and @NBCOlympics @MichaelPhelps (I'm sure I'm late on that one..) @J_Horton11.. That Andy Thornton character is supposed to be live tweeting women's gymnastics.. I haven't seen anything yet. Oh, this just in: Follow @AAinsworthNBC for women's gymnastics.. My bad.  ANYWAY, go USA!

Happy Thursday.

WYBT

It's What's Your Beef Tuesday! Which I think I've done before on Thursday.. buuuuuut we should all know by now I'm not much of a stickler for the rules.. actually I am. But not on my blog, because there are no rules. So chaos is a go! And I don't have anything to really beef about specifically..

It's Day 6 of Hero Run training.. last night (Day 5) I ran 3 mi in 28:something.. After Saturday's hellacious 5 miles and Sunday's very sore and stiff stretch/strength rest day, I was dreading last night's run. But it turned out to feel a lot better than I was expecting.. I tried to run hard(er) and was pleasantly surprised with the results.. not just my time, but how my legs felt.. I mean after 3 and half ish months off from regular running (I still play soccer every week) seems like I've already got some distance back in these stems. Whatever, I'm bored..

Found a new app to get.. it's FREE! It's called justWink and it's a greeting card app. I recommend it. It's very cute! You can send your greeting card in a text, email or put it on your bff's facebook wall (which is the option I chose, obvi).. oober bummed I can't tweet that cuteness, but I'm sure I'll receive a notice for an update, soon! justWink.. if you're reading.. it's all about Twitter (and me!). Here is how it looks.. I get a notification that my bff posted to my wall.. I click on it and get my greeting card, I swipe the card open and get a sweet little notey from my girl.

Do you watch Love In The Wild? Jenny McCarthy is the host(ess?).. it is AMAZING!!! I love it! So silly and fun, plus she's a riot. Tonight is the finale. So nervous!

What else is happening? How bout this James Holmes character.. what devastation! I think our local theatres should do something.. like money from all tickets bought on Saturday go directly to our peeps in Aurora affected by this idiot.

That's it, I guess.. Today is an off day.. Maybe I'll go see Batman.. as long as it doesn't run into Love In The Wild finale.

Happy Tuesday! WYB?

Championship Sunday!

Friday workout: 3 mi - 27:15
1 mi warm up: 10:00
2 mi: 8:34

Saturday workout: 5 mi
I couldn't find my splits on my Garmin.  But it's nothing to brag about, I thought I was going to die, but I did it!

Sunday workout: Rest and eat a lot.

I spent some time in a new (to me and new location) boutique yesterday.  I got a fab hi-lo (mullet) dress.  Now I just need an event!  And I picked up a great little striped number, with a bow belt.  Mom said it was very Zooey Deschanel, whom I obvi adore.  Now I need some shoes.  Yes, need.

Last night, I joined some girlfriends at an open house for good friends.  Their house is AWESOME!!  It was a very successful project!  I had no idea wood paneling could become something soooo gorgeous and belongs-in-the-Hamptons-ish.

Nothing is really going on today.  Everyone needs days like this.  And it's freaking hot out.  I woke up at 6:30 and watched a couple episodes of The Hills and then watched Rango.  Have you seen it?  I laughed a lot.  I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, and it didn't take a lot of neurons to watch.  Perfect early morning movie.

Today, golf fans, is Championship Sunday at The British.. Ernie Els is making a run!  I like him.  Of course, my loyalty is to Tiger.  He's not having a great day, but perhaps he's about to turn it on.  I dunno, but I like to keep it positive around here when Tiger is in contention.  Send good thoughts, people.

That's it.  I'm ready for my mid morning snack.

Happy Sunday.

Happy Thursday! I'm going to NEW! YORK! AHHHHHHHHHH!

Hero Run

Hey Gang, remember this, and this?  Well, it's that time again!  Can't believe it's been a year, GEEZE!  This year I will be running the Hero Run, in Mascoutah, IL for fallen soldiers (Last year I ran the Soldier Half Marathon in Columbus, GA).  I'm running in honor of 1st Lt. Robert Wilson Collins. Any money I raise goes directly to The 1LT Robert Wilson Collins Patriot Spirit Scholarship.  Once again, I'm completely excited, and honored and humbled to be a part of this.

If you are interested in supporting The 1LT Robert Wilson Collins Patriot Spirit Scholarship (and me!) and would like to sponsor my run by pledging a certain dollar amount per mile ($1/mi = $13.10), or making a donation, email me at jess.wilson430@gmail.com -- I encourage you to write a check to me, so I can present one amount to Robert's parents, but you are also most welcome send your donation directly to the fund.

See the flyer below for more deets and the bank's address (it probably looks familiar!):

If you're lucky, I blog more and include my runs and times and hopefully ugly running faces.  Those are the best.

Happy Day 1 of Training!

20 Second Time Out (To Be Serious)

Hey kids.

I just sent this same thought in an email to one of my bffs (you know her too.. at Eat, Drink, and Be Mary).  We email all day long.. naturally.  About all things good.. life, love, Twitter, Bravo, soccer, our peeps. Then, I thought.. HEY, I'm gonna blog dat sh*t.

So here it is..

I'm Catholic. Born and raised, was (finally!) confirmed last June.. I probably blogged about.  I dunno, I can't find it. My confirmation was interrupted twice before.. once in 8th grade, by chicken pox.. and again in 9th grade, by a championship soccer game.. I know, I know.. save it.. we lost, K?  Anywho, I decided to do it, after all, I'd done all the prep.. and it was important to me.  Now, I'm still Catholic.. I go to church, not regularly, not when I should.  But I don't think it makes me any less of a Catholic.  Some might argue, and that's fine.  Going to school in the bible belt for four years, I was exposed to some individuals that were a bit more indulged in their religion.  And let's just say, if they were considered "religious", I did not want to be their kind of "religious".  Alright, I'm missing my own frickin' point here.. I believe in believing in a higher power, I don't care what it is or who it is. I think you will go crazy if you don't believe in something bigger than you. And I find extreme comfort in knowing that someone has my life completely figured out.  So, while catching up with my girl (virtually) at Urban Nester I stumbled upon these:

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you."

Here's to generosity, humility and God's grace. God Bless America, and her peeps. And my peeps, most of all. Because, they rule. Natch.

Thanks for the 20.

Happy Monday!

In Honor of Andy Griffith..

Whistle by Flo Rida

Totally appropes right? RIP Andy Griffith!

Happy Tuesday!
